PennDOT Invites Pennsylvanians to Share Input to Improve Traffic Safety
February 18th, 2026The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is inviting residents to complete an online traffic safety survey, available through February 28 to help guide future safety initiatives. PennDOT invests nearly $30 million annually in federal grant funding for education and enforcement programs aimed at reducing crashes, injuries, and fatalities.
Preliminary 2025 data shows traffic fatalities have declined for the second consecutive year, following 1,127 deaths in 2024, representing the second-lowest total since recordkeeping began. The voluntary, anonymous survey gathers feedback on behaviors such as seat belt use, impaired and distracted driving, speeding, and pedestrian, bicycle, and motorcycle safety. Survey results help shape public awareness campaigns, including efforts tied to the national “Click It or Ticket” initiative, as PennDOT works to continue reducing roadway fatalities across Pennsylvania.
