The Local Share Account (LSA) Statewide program provides competitive grant funding for projects that are in the public interest and improve the quality of life for residents. Projects must be owned and maintained by an eligible applicant or nonprofit organization.
Eligible applicants include Pennsylvania counties, municipalities, municipal authorities, economic development agencies, redevelopment authorities, land banks, and councils of government. The 2026 application period runs from September 1 through November 30, 2026.
For a competitive application, applicants should consider requesting a reasonable amount, potentially breaking larger projects into phases, and asking their state representative or senator for a letter of support. Multiple applications are allowed, but submitting several requests can cause them to compete against each other. Related equipment purchases can also be combined into one application.
Applicants who submitted the same project or equipment request in 2025 may want to wait until after the September 15, 2026 CFA meeting before submitting a 2026 application. The 2025 awards had not yet been announced, and the September meeting may provide additional information about those applications.
