Main Street Matters Grants Program is Open

July 8th, 2025

The Main Street Matters program supports revitalization of downtown areas and nearby neighborhoods to create healthy, vibrant, and welcoming communities. Funding is available for planning, business support, safety, security, and aesthetic improvements.  The deadline to apply is August 31, 2025.

Designation Opportunity

Communities can apply for a Main Street or Elm Street designation, allowing them to identify development needs and implement strategies for targeted investment.

Uses of Funding

  • Community and economic development activities
  • Planning initiatives
  • Facade and business improvement grant programs
  • Accessible housing programs
  • District development grants

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include:

  • Local governments (boroughs, counties, cities, townships, etc.)
  • Redevelopment and housing authorities
  • Nonprofits (e.g., economic development or housing organizations)
  • Community development corporations
  • Business/neighborhood/downtown improvement districts

Applicants should follow the official guidelines for funding and designation applications.
